Title: Why are there so many versions?
Post by: Freddy on 24 August, 2004, 16:07:50
I was thinking this question was part of a FAQ, but i was wrong...
Aside the differences I can find in the revision history, why are there [a], , [c], [d], [e] versions of the client?

Wich one is best? Or, better, what the literal tag means?

Regards

Because CZDC++ is derived from DC++ but new versions of CZDC++ are released more often than DC++ versions (more versions of CZDC++ based on the same version of DC++). So every CZDC++ version is named as DC++ version plus [letter]. The "higher" letter, the newer version. As 0.401 is older than 0.403, the 0.403[A] is older than 0.403[E]. Understood?
